The Op

Shining Path, or Sendero Luminoso (SL) in Spanish, is an insurgent group in Peru that began its armed actions in 1980.  SL mainly operates in a remote area in eastern Peru, known as the Apurimac; Ene; and Mantaro River Valley, a vast jungle area near the Andes mountains.

The Belligerants

PGA – The PGA (People’s Guerilla Army, or Ejército Guerrillero Popular, EGP) is the militant wing tasked to provide income for SL by conducting armed assaults, assassinations, extortion operations, and hostage-takings; they are also the personal army of the Cartel.  These guerillas are fiercely loyal to the guy who signs their paychecks and are highly trained and organized.  The PGA prefers AKs and olive drab and non-UN camo. Civvies would be fine too… especially Hawaiian shirts.  No or minimal red/orange colors on them though please.

PNP – PNP (Paramilitary National Police) Is the national police force tasked with keeping the cartel in check.  They’ve long since given up trying to stop the drug export trade from the country, because it was costing too much time, money, and lives.  Any UN weapon and camo is great for this team.

Gameplay

Intel reports indicated that PGA is planning on blowing up a number of populated locations.  It is up to the PNP to stop them and/or defuse any bombs that may be planted.
