#22aday is 22 too many. The OP: Damage Control series is our annual event to support Maine Veterans Project, a fantastic small group based in Bangor that works nonstop to make sure Maine veterans get the help they need. To date, SAASMaine has raised $1550 in support of MVP.
We decided to push back the date for OP: Damage Control III by a couple of weeks… letting you know now so you can get it on your calendar!
This will be another 24-hour “minisim”, or more appropriately, a “chillsim”. Please refer to the Night Rules Supplement to make sure you’re prepared! The OP: Damage Control series is a continuous storyline that builds on the previous years, but it’s okay if you missed a year, since most people just want to show up and sling BBs. That, and we’ll recap during the safety brief (as well as here).
This year’s raffle has grown in prizes as well!
As a reminder: 100% of field fees (plus donation), rental fees, and raffle donations are given directly to MVP.
We absolutely cannot do our OP: Damage Control series without support from some amazing people:
After the successful Andozian invasion of Cardistan last year, their geologists quickly found something much more valuable than uranium: lithium. Almost immediately, the Andozians went to work in assembling a massive mining consortium and began strip mining the land; it’s quicker, cheaper, and not their country so they don’t care.
The Andozian military kept a small contingency in-country to supervise hired PMCs to act as security for the mining operation, as well as the Consortium headquarters.
With clandestine help from the Nomads, the Cardistani military and citizens begin working to put an end to the Consortium that’s destroying the countryside, free all the Cardistani and Nomads who were pressed into service, and eliminating the Andozian military and PMCs, driving Andozia out of Cardistan forever.
** As a reminder, this is not a strict reenactment. Please come as you are!
Green Team will be Andozian Military officials and PMCs. We would prefer if you would wear any non-US camo as Andozian military, and, of course, PMCs can wear anything. US-based replicas are preferred.
Blue Team will be the Cardistan Military and Militia. Military players are encouranged to wear US-based camo, but use non-US replicas. The Militia is encouraged to wear civilian type loadouts/clothing and non-US replicas.
Purple Team will be the Nomads, which is invitation only. We will set up a private Nomad group on our Discord for further discussion.
