We are excited to run our very first ZOMBIE event, and hope you guys are excited as well. This is one of the most incredible games to play. It is the most difficult, the most terrifying, and the most fun. The best part of this game is that no one loses. Kinda.
Despite what is popular in movies, PLEASE don’t shoot zombies in the head. Aim center mass as you would in any other game.
A new COVID variant has caused some unusual effects in a small population of people, turning them into mindless reanimated corpses with a hunger that only human brains can satisfy. This new mutation spreads quickly when a zombie bites a human. Huge swaths of the population have been infected nearly overnight. A small band of humans have stumbled across a stronghold (Pallet Fort) after escaping from nearby cities. The walls are sturdy, but there are no supplies inside. Sure, they could safely stay there, but when the food and water run out, they will certainly die. Because of this, the humans MUST venture out into the countryside to secure supplies.
A list of required supplies will be provided by gametime.
Zombie Respawn Rules
When a zombie is hit, call “hit!” (an unusual growl will suffice) and drop to the ground.
The zombie places a dead rag (undead rag?) on their head and start their 3-minute cooldown.
After the end of three minutes, the zombie can either wait another 3 minutes (especially if surrounded by humans), or it can simply stand, remove the dead rag, and shuffle off to find its next meal.
(Fun hint: if you’re at the end of your three minutes and a human is back to you, you can attempt to stand, pocket your dead rag, and infect the human!)
How to infect a human.
Does anyone remember flag football? If you do, you will be familiar with this. All humans will start with surveyor tap tied to either side of their waist, either on a belt or chest rig. These flags will be beautiful vibrant colors because zombies are attracted to pretty shiny things. Like neon pink. And brains.
A human is infected when a zombie is successful in tearing off ONE of the human’s flags.
When a human is infected, they must die in a loud grotesque George A. Romero fashion, place their dead rag on their head and sit for their 3-minute cooldown.
At the end of the 3 minutes, the newly infect zombie will rise up and head to the zombie respawn. There, they will remove their dead rag and dispose of their survey tape in the bucket provided. They will also stow all their weapons at spawn since zombies are incapable of figuring out weaponry. Ensure your equipment has your callsign, initials, or name on them. Paint markers are awesome for this.
Please don’t take anything that doesn’t belong to you.
As the game progresses, the zombies evolve.
Phase I: Homers
Considered the dumbest variation, Homers are capable of running, however can be easily outsmarted and taken down. They likely get their name from Homer Simpson, due to their lack of intelligence.
Phase II: Hawkings
Hawkings are a much smarter variant of zombie, possessing a degree of problem solving to get their next meal. They are named after Dr. Stephen Hawking.
Phase III: Ninjas
A much faster and stealthier variant of zombie is the Ninja. Though not very durable, they make up for it in speed and ambush tactics.
Phase IV: T-800
A much more powerful zombie comes in the form of the T-800. Unlike the typical zombies, T-800s can take much more abuse and are so named after the Series 800 Terminator. T-800s can only be killed by hitting either of the tin pie plates on their front and back. T-800s also have only a 1-minute cooldown.
Please note that the different phases of zombies can be introduced at any time.
The game ends when everyone is a zombie.
